…But not from me. This one is from my good friend, Harry Frank of GrayMachine.com.

Next week’s episode of Red Giant TV promises to be an amazing one  – it covers creating a crowd with Trapcode Particular 2.0. Building off of Harry’s work in the tutorial, I created this scene:

Click on image to see video (It's about 8 MB).

A still image doesn’t do it justice, so watch the video. You can also watch a smaller version here.

Believe it or not, this entire crowd was created using ONLY 5 Crowd Control clips:

PS: Harry and I are actually working on a tutorial together – But I’m not telling about what. And I guarantee – you won’t guess.

About a year ago I tried a fast camera move through a crowd set up with particular 1.5. Everything worked fine, execpt there where some of the crowd particles flickering or popping in and out. I hope with particular2 this problem is no more…

  5. I actually encountered this myself, but I simply changed the emitter’s random seed value, and it fixed the problem. I *think* it has to do with 2 images occupying the same space at once. I’ll ask about it though.

But random seed value is a particular2 feature, ain´t it?

  7. Not for the emitter. I believe that was in version 1 as well.
