John_Me Hey folks – I had the pleasure of being interviewed by my good friend John Dickinson, of Motionworks, last week.   In this up-close and funny chat, we discuss how I started in the industry and my years working with Creative Cow and now Red Giant Software.

I also talk about the online tutorial phenomenon, plus Crowd Control and the soon-to-be-released Holomatrix plug-in. I say what some might consider to be a bit controversial (Hint:  if you’re an animator building your reel, I have some stern words about what you’re putting in it), but it’s all said to help you be successful.

You can watch the interview here.

On a personal note, I just wanted to thank John for being a great friend. we’ve known each other a long time, and though we don’t get to hang out too often, we do iChat a lot. He’s a truly  nice and genuine guy, and someone I come to for advice and a good laugh. John – you rock!

love some of the points that were made, always good hearing opinions

  2. At the end of the day, it’s just one man’s opinion. Take everything you hear (from me or anyone else) with a grain of salt.

I met John Dickinson at SMPTE in Sydney earlier this year. Real nice guy and knows his stuff. He was showing off AE at the Adobe booth. When are you coming to Sydney Aharon?
