On the topic of using “Project Templates” (importing a preexisting project into aftereffects to use as a “template”) if by chance, you have a template, that you would like to have open every time you start aftereffects, there is a script over at aescripts.com that will do just that. http://aescripts.com/load-project-at-startup/ On the same note, the script can work with *.aet files (aftereffectstemplate) which is another good topic worth taking a look at.
